从人类文明的车轮真正飞速朝着所谓“征服自然“，而事实上无非是“破坏自然”的方向疾驶，至今也不过区区几千年--特别在近百年的时间里，我们痛心疾首地看到，人类征服自然的的后果竟然将人类本身送上了刑台。看看这后工业时代以后的世界吧：物种消失的速度比秒针转动的速度还快，臭氧变得稀薄，雨林在减少，海洋变得有毒，自然资源被采伐殆尽，而人类仍然苦苦钻研着基因技术以来继续更高级地破坏自然之和谐。。。。。。面对这一切，是不是所有人可以从人类末日危机的恶梦中苏醒了呢？现在选出这首歌权当一声警钟。
同MJ其他歌曲的特色一样，若想达到这首“地球之歌”的至高审美享受，应该结合观看它的MTV--MJ式的举世无双的MTV。而在所有MJ的诸多MTV中，最感动人的并非那些场面浩大，舞姿强劲的歌，而是这首。为了加深音乐的意向，这首歌的MTV中我们会看到一些真实发生在我们身边的场面，如非洲被疯狂滥杀的野生动物，波黑战后的废墟，亚马逊因人类的贪婪和愚蠢而日益锐减的原始森林等等。每一个善良的人，如果见到MTV中刻意凸浮出的一些细节--绝望地坐在被毁灭的街道边上的老人回过头去，看到坦克正从身后缓缓开来；一只哀鸣的海豚在无可逃脱的渔网中挣扎求生；生存之地被不断吞噬的南美土著跪倒在被砍伐殆尽的森林中，满腔愤怒懑地攥起一把泥土--会真切地明白这首歌的意义。虽然在MTV的后部，我们见到被惨杀的大象复活了，伐倒的树木再次立起，胸口有一个渗血枪孔的青年睁开了眼睛，迈向了和平的城市。。。。。。但我们知道这一切并没有发生，现在的世界那些MTV中显示的罪恶甚至在加深，和平和幸福远远没有到来，那只是一幅美好的幻景罢了--人来仍在不知疲倦地探索着罪恶的限度。

关于Heal The World基金会
2003年,Michael获得诺贝尔和平奖提名,这是他继1998年后第2次获得该奖项的提名,以奖励他孜孜不倦的慈善事业和通过音乐的方式促进世界和平所取得的成就.
1996年2月，“Heal The World基金会/世界儿童年会”的一名墨西哥籍的儿童大使向联合国第二届环境预备委员会提交了一份创建可持续发展环境的模本建议。

1996年4月，“Heal The World基金会/世界儿童年会”的大使参加了在华盛顿特区举行的“青年之光”会议，寻求更多合作关系以共同呼吁建立一个有着健康环境根基的社会。
